STAYING CONNECTED: Tom Byron, one of our TBPOA members, has created the Treasure Beach Neighbors Facebook group so that neighbors can share news and communications.
The idea for the group grew out of a neighborly discussion about how to alert treat lovers that the Ice Cream Truck is in the neighborhood.
Since creating the group, there have been posts about garage sales, social events, neighborhood improvements, and of course - the ice cream truck!

Our CROSSWALK project has attracted much attention in the last two weeks. Trucks, lights, and workers have been congregating around the site of the new crosswalk. Police have been out too to help manage traffic around the work.
The foundation and electricity are now in place and ready to receive the crosswalk pole. The crosswalk sign has already gone up.
The crosswalk should be finished this summer! For updates, visit FDOT PFDOT Projects online.
SAFETY VESTS, like those pictured, were distributed to community members at the Treasure Beach Property Owners Association at the February meeting. Community members agreed the vests could be a deterrent to speeding in the neighborhood. The vests are bright yellow, fully adjustable, and read "SPEED LIMIT 25 M.P.H." Members who volunteered to wear them out walking and cycling were given vests from the first order. TBPOA is working to secure more vests for the next meeting on Monday, March 11th.

THIS WEEK: Steve Palese, President of the Treasure Beach Property Owners Association, spotted surveyors on A1A at the location of the future Treasure Beach crosswalk! He called the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) who verified their surveyors had been measuring and preparing the site for construction! Palese's source at the FDOT confirmed they will break ground in February and complete the crosswalk project this summer.
For updates, visit FDOT PFDOT Projects online.
SAFETY RAILS, similar to those pictured, are to be installed next month. The safety recommendation came from Treasure Beach community members who were concerned that children, pets, and wheelchairs could slip under the current railing. Steve Palese, President of the Treasure Beach Property Owners Association quickly rallied a group of eager volunteers to install the safety rails. The installation is planned for March. Contact Steve to volunteer at stephenpalese@msn.com .
